In addition to providing services for the community, our local healthcare providers are also actively involved in workforce development, medical education, research and other ways that have a direct impact on the local economy. Now, with legislation proposals on both the state and federal levels, and construction of the new medical school in Lebanon, it is clear that our community healthcare is at a pivotal point. Join us for a community discussion on February 8th as the Corvallis City Club hosts Larry Mullins, DHA, President/CEO of Samaritan Health Services, who will address the topic from his local perspective as well as from the roles he has played in health policy development at the state and national levels. Come with questions and learn more about and how reform efforts at the state and national levels may impact how health care is delivered and paid for in the future.
The Corvallis City Club meets on the second Monday of each month from 11:45 – 1:30pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 114 SW 8th Street. Corvallis City Club is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding community dialogue and is sponsored by the Corvallis-Benton Chamber Coalition. The monthly events are open to the public.
