Gaveling in just after a bitter election season that saw record campaign expenditures on attack ads, Oregon’s 90 legislators will convene this February not only to grapple with a growing slate of issues, but also a projected $2 billion budget shortfall.
Speaking to Oregonlive about the upcoming session, Senate Majority Leader Ginny Burdick, D-Portland, said, “We’ll be looking to the governor for leadership… It’s going to be a tough one.”
Locally, our State Senator Sara Gelser and State Representative Dan Rayfield will be offering a preview of the 2017 legislative session, all with generous time for audience questions and answers.
