Our next CitySpeak Forum, scheduled for Tuesday, July 21, will feature local experts conducting what amounts to a “Pandemic Check-up,” exploring local epidemiology and mental health during the time of COVID-19. Airing live on The Corvallis Advocate website and Facebook page, the event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and feature moderator and audience questions. Our Panelists
Jana Svoboda is a Clinical Social Worker in private practice with 35 years of experience. Svoboda will speak to the nature of resilience with a focus on self-care and mental health during pandemic times. She’ll offer insight as to how we can healthily adapt and create meaningful routines through times of fear and uncertainty. Svoboda will also touch on parenting as children cope with social distancing and how to process current events and civil unrest.
Danielle Brown is the Interim Co-director of the Benton Health Department. As a behavioral health worker, Brown will offer her observations on alcohol and weed industry trends, and what increased use might mean for individuals over the short and long-term.
Charlie Fautin is the second Interim Co-director of the Benton County Health Department. With a medical and public health background, Fautin will address the current spike in COVID-19 cases, including those seen in younger generations. Fautin will offer his insight on re-opening measures thus far and in the future.
