ELECTION DEBATES 2021: SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATES + A LOCAL BALLOT MEASURE, Tues, April 27, 6 pm

May brings school board elections in odd numbered years. The last cycle, everyone ran unopposed, but this is 2021, and there are nine candidates heatedly vying for four seats. Fortunately, the candidates will be appearing for a town hall style CitySpeak Debate.

Slated for Tuesday, April 27 at 6:30 pm the debate can be accessed on The Corvallis Advocate’s website or Facebook page. It’s presented by the newspaper, and City Club of Corvallis. Viewers can submit questions before and during the forum by emailing cityspeak@corvallisadvocate.com, messaging the paper on social media, or just posting questions on one of the social media posts for the event.

During the event, viewers can post to the livestream on the event’s Facebook feed. Expect the evening to end at 8 p.m. Video of the debate will be available immediately following.

Show-up Early for the Local Option Tax Levy Forum. Bonus for voters who show up 30  minutes early on April 27 – at 6:00 p.m. – and you can learn all about the Local Option Tax Levy that will be on the ballot alongside the school board races. Panelists include Benton County Commissioner Xan Augerot and Benton County Sheriff Jefri Van Arsdall.
