With all the other news, environmental sustainability is not top of mind of late – but our fates are still inextricably tied to the earth, and the climate crisis. Our next CitySpeak Forum offers a check-in with our local governments and institutions about efforts and progress towards increased sustainability.
Our panel will examine progress on both a local and global scale, and we’ll be inquiring about the relationship of climate and pandemic, and what we’ve learned from the shutdown. The panel will also offer an update about the Jordan Cove LNG development.
The livestream is slated for Tuesday, July 14, at 6:30 pm. As always with CitySpeak, a public Q&A period is part of the schedule, and questions can be submitted before or during on the Corvallis Advocate’s facebook page, or to firstname.lastname@example.org. Questions can also be submitted on the facebook posting of the livestream.
On hand, we’ll have the people working in the trenches:
- OSU Sustainability Officer, Brandon Trelstad
- City of Corvallis Sustainability Coordinator, Scott Dybvad
- Benton County Sustainability Coordinator, Sean McGuire
- Corvallis School District Sustainability Specialist, Bailey Payne
- Trish Weber, 350 Corvallis
- Jillian Gregg, OSU Crop and Soil Science Instructor
Corvallis Advocate Editor-in-Chief Stevie Beisswanger, and Publisher Steven Schultz will co-moderate. CitySpeak forums are presented by the City Club of Corvallis, and The Corvallis Advocate. This CitySpeak is sponsored by Peak Sports, First Alternative Natural Foods Co-op, and the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition.
